The following prayer was given by H. Frank Lay, our Founder and Head of School, during the Santa Rosa County National Day of Prayer event May 2, 2024.
There are many educators across this state and land in which we live. The Master Teacher is Jesus, with a big T. Many of us follow Him and we are the little t’s that aspire to be like Him. Me and many others are blessed to spend so much time with His children day in and day out. Join me in talking with Him.
Lord it is a great day and knowing you as our heavenly Father makes its so. Thank you for giving our founding fathers this great land and for the wisdom you gave them to establish it on a government that grants to its citizens the first amendment rights we are practicing and enjoying at this event today. We are grateful for our founding fathers and mothers who paid the ultimate price for our earthly freedoms. More importantly, as your children, we know that it is you Lord and your truth that sets us free indeed!
Father your word teaches us that we are to pray for one another. Today I pray specifically for our schools, teachers, and students. Scripture teaches the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Lord, I ask forgiveness for all of us( homeschoolers, private schoolers, and public schoolers) when we have not practiced fearing You or seeking the knowledge found in your Word. Father, You are the source of all truth, beauty, and wonder. You are the giver of life, sustainer of life, and our only hope in this life and for the one to come. We are asking for forgiveness and a chance to do over and do better.
Lord, Your word teaches us to train up children in the way they should go and that we are to store up treasures in heaven. Truly, our children are our greatest earthly treasure and training them up in today’s culture has become increasing difficult and combative.
Today Lord I pray first for safety! Give us a vigilant protective attitude to all concerned parties who watch over our treasures, the children. Keep us at point to stay alert to any type of threats against our schools. You Lord stated clearly that it would be better for one to have a millstone tied around his neck and thrown into the ocean, than to offend one of these little children. Give us courage to do the same that hurt our children.
Second, I pray for all school teachers and administrators!
For the God fearing ones, please give them strength to be fully devoted followers of You which will equip them to be a role model for you and impart salt and light into the hearts and minds of their students. May they not grow weary in well doing for in due season they shall reap.
For the people working with our children who are not God fearing but love children and work faithfully to help mold them into good citizens I pray for a blessing on their work. I also pray for their salvation.
Lord for organizations on our campuses like Fellowship of Christian Athletes, First Priority, and other prayer groups, I pray for their work and their effort towards sharing the Gospel. May they prosper and be a stellar influence on their campuses.
Finally Lord…..we beg, plead, and weep for revival to flood this land!
We love you Lord and end our prayer saying, ‘’Come Lord Jesus.”
